UKDBA Level 1 Coaching Qualificaiton
Suitable for anybody leading a group session. This could be a teacher, youth worker, coach, student, parent, community worker or volunteer. As well as supporting individual development the course has a focus on inclusion and the physical, mental, social and community wellbeing.
Minimum Age 16
4 hour course
Qualifications aims and objectives
By the end of this course participants should be able to:
How to safely deliver a dodgeball session
Have an understanding of the needs of different participants within a session
Make their dodgeball sessions inclusive
Recognise how to create a positive environment in your sessions
Consists of 5 modules
Module 1: The Sport – a practical based module that provides an understanding of dodgeball, rules of the game, correct equipment to use, alternative versions and key physical and social benefits
Module 2: The Participants – a theory based module that concentrates on working with groups and opportunities beyond play
Module 3: Inclusion – a practical based module covering the inclusion spectrum and game variations for disability groups
Module 4: A Positive Wellbeing – a theory based module that covers positive changes, improving self-esteem, building relationships and taking part
Module 5: Your Session – a group session delivery incorporating aspects learnt on the course
All candidates attending the course will receive certification and resource
UKDBA Level 2 Coaching Qualificaiton
This course offers an insight into Dodgeball for aspiring coaches in the sport, developing their knowledge and understanding of how to coach Dodgeball to a variety of ages, whether it is a local community group, or to a school team.
Minimum Age: 16
Course Duration: 8 hours
Qualifications Aims & Objectives
By the end of this course participants should be able to:
1. Design and deliver Dodgeballl sessions
2. Understand the organisational skills necessary to safely introduce and develop Dodgeball to all abilities
3. Coach basic individual skills and techniques and further develop players
4. Understand and apply basic rules through officiating on course
5. Deliver a number of micro-coaching sessions to peers
